Why we created Kanonara
Every novelist who has written past chapter twenty knows the feeling: Did Mia learn about the rebellion in chapter six, or did she only overhear it in chapter twelve? Was Kai carrying the obsidian dagger when he entered the ruins? How long does it actually take to ride from the border garrison to the capital?
Conventional writing tools treat words as passive strings on a scrolling canvas. They do not know who your characters are, what items they carry, what promises they have made, or what rules govern your magic system. Authors are forced to juggle external wikis, messy spreadsheets, and sticky notes, or spend weeks re-reading their own earlier drafts.
Meanwhile, modern AI writing tools have rushed toward autonomous ghostwriting: generating generic paragraphs of text that hallucinate facts, overwrite author voice, and ignore established world logic.
We built Kanonara to take the opposite approach: story intelligence that serves author memory. Kanonara maintains a living Story Bible of your characters, places, and rules. When you finish drafting a chapter, our Story Doctor inspects it against your canon, highlighting contradictions with passage evidence before your readers discover them.

The author is the source of truth
We believe writing belongs to human storytellers. Kanonara never silently modifies your manuscript or your story canon. Any suggestion, detected fact, or continuity flag returns as an explicit proposal that you accept, edit, or reject. Your vision is sovereign.
Canon is the heart of long-form fiction
Stories break when continuity decays. A character's eye color changing, an injury vanishing without healing, or a magic system rule being broken in chapter forty ruins reader immersion. Kanonara remembers what you establish across characters, relationships, places, and timeline events.
Books belong on fixed pages, not scrolling sheets
Word processors have treated writing as an infinite scrolling sheet since the 1980s. But readers experience novels as pages. By writing on fixed A6 bunko book pages with locked typography, what you see while drafting is the exact page your reader turns.
